May CTP change: private interface implementations?

This used to be allowed (and I see no reason why not?)

type internal IGen = 
    abstract AsGenObject : Gen<obj>
    
///Generator of a random value, based on a size parameter and a randomly generated int.
and Gen<'a> = 
    Gen of (int -> StdGen -> 'a) 
    interface IGen with
        member x.AsGenObject = x.Map box

But in the May CTP, I get: "the type IGen is less accessible than the value, member or type Gen, it is used in" (sic)If I make IGen public, the error goes away. I don't see anything about interface impkementations in the release notes. What's up? I'm quite fond of private interface implementations.

Hi Kurt,

We did add checking here which ensures that implemented interfaces are at least as public as the enclosing class.

However it is true that implementing internal interfaces is a useful technique. We have recorded a suggestion to re-accept internalized implementations in our internal database.
